Just fitted a set of Cree LED spot lights, they are quite low wattage obviously (12w each) I have connected them into the positive feed from the auxiliary power socket wires.. The power socket switches off 1min after turning the ignition off. Now if I leave the lights switched on the power socket doesn't power down at all, not until 1 min after I physically switch off the spotlights.

Anyone know why this happens???

I thought that by connecting into here it would be the easiest option, (it's how my Autocom and bike to bike radio is connected) is my only way now to take the positive feed from the positive off the dipped headlamp ???? Bloody pain!

Thanks.

I have a similar issue. The lights will go out but only after 30mins - for research purposes could you leave yours on and see if the same happens?

I have used the GPS socket on my R1200RTP but it should be on the same circuit as your accessory socket

Initially I thought it was due to the Power Management Unit that is part of the authority bikes' system for running extra gear at a standstill, but reading your post suggests the cause may be something more basic

It's spotlights probably keeping it on, later autocom a can also do this, try using a relay .

Take the bike for a good run and try again if the battery is a bit low due to pissing about in the garage with your bike the canbus has been known on these bikes to not turn of the aux plug
