Anyone use or have any experience of these? I have been offered a pair brand new with the coiled BMW lead for £120 inc P+P, is this a good deal?
Would be nice for me and swmbo when we go touring later this year.
Cheers,
Tom

Make your own

Save Money Make your own for £25, I used my home made heated jacket for the first time last weekend, it worked well keeping me nice and warm on a two hour ride in 0 Degress and lots of rain.
I got a kit from heat4jackets.com took me about an hour to make up, job done.

Tommy, go for it, I've got one and it is an excellent bit of kit, £120 for a pair is a bargain. :thumb We might even get to see you out on the bike between the months of October and May now :augie

Hiya Mate,

I have used the bike almost everyday throughout winter and could have done with these vests about 4 months ago! Always up for a spin at a weekend as well though. I am going down to CW next month for the Ted Simon book signing if you are up for it?

Definitely a bargain. I bought one for £100 in Rainbow's sale about 3 years ago and it's the best £100 I've ever spent on bike kit.

Regards,

Charles

Yes. I was very happy with my Widder Ventura II vest (that is the older model with heated collar) for the 14 years that I had it. Not a single complaint. I now have a Gerbing's heated jacket liner that has heated sleeves and collar.

How well do they work? You'll enjoy cold weather riding from now on. With the vest under my Aerostich suit and 300 weight fleece jacket, I was able to go for an enjoyable 340 mile day ride with temps maxing out at -6°C (about 21°F).

And yes, that is a good deal.

Tommy, let me know the date and I'll see if I can join you, maybe we can persuade BTBR to get his bike out as well

We got 2 premade jackets offa ebay for £25 delivered each which is the same price as the kit and they are way better as they have on off switch plus can take batteries so I use them for walking the dog.

I did bust the zip on one but got it repair for £8 and they were saying how well made and how much they wanted one at the repair shop.

They heat up like you cant imagine, they are great and ive done a solid winters riding with them in ever condition including heavy snow in the north yorkshire moors.

i have had a widder for 7 years, a top bit of kit. its does seem to shrink each summer and now i can either zip it up or breath but unfortunatly not both
