Just met a bloke with a hand built exhaust in Jo;burg (South Africa). Had to stop and talk to the guy as I hadn't seen anything like before.

What do you think?

Cheers

Silly question...........

Where does the number plate go?

Or has it melted off?

Got to say they look handmade.....not my cup of tea really, they may have looked better in the flesh.

Robbo7822,

Your right they're home made, but I think they're a prototype. The guy wanted to find out how it worked and whether or not the heat from the exhaust effected the rear lights and plastic bodywork of the bike. Under the plastic back end fairing he's layered metalic shielding to protect electrics for the lights etc.

Gotterdammerung, they do things differetn down here...a lot of bikers just don't put plates on! Legally they must, but the fine for not is only R500 (44 quid) and the chances of a police occifer' pulling you is slim. Compare that with a speeding fine of several thousand rand and it's not hard to see that you can afford to get pulled for no plate quite a few times and have fun 'blating around' before the economics stop working.

Got to say the pipe sounded great but not sure how it would would work off-road:D

Not sure I like it... bit like a puckered sphincter! and am sure that box will cause the same in its present location:D
Also the lack of numberplate is de rigeur in JHB as noted.

(Hi Simon - met you in PE and at ABBG (Gamkaskloof rules!)... you are on your way soon so good luck. Cheers = Dominic)

Like it , could do with being a little smaller ...

on the numberplate thingy , what would stop some one haveing a smaller (ish) plate made up and fitted to the rear mud catcher , hampster catcher thingy , u know the but that cover the back wheel ?

would be pretty east to wire a light onto it , a little led thingy ?

just a thought ?

or even paint it on, seen alot worse on some streetfighters !

He just needs to fabricate a system similar to the 999R bracket:
