Wilbers shock Fitment issue

not got clue whats causing this,

was going heat and bend headder but nto sure will fix issue and also could end up putting creases in pipe or cracking it

may have look at making extended mount for the end can

checked the mounting lug that i taught was bent, but its exactly same as one Bez1 as per last thread

any ideas

If you look on AdvRider, it is very common

The piggyback cannister touches the header in almost every case

Design fault on Wilbers part

You'll just have to ram it together and put up with it, sadly

can you slacken the header pipe fixings,that may gain a bit of clearance.

thats a bit crap.
spend all that cash on a shock then have it overheat

Make sure it doesn't then rub the rubber water hose then

Solve one problem and create another

well slacken exhaust nuts and it then yes all clear, once tighten it up it gets pulled back in.

migth check see if end can will clear with headder off.

if so i will get a pipe bender and maybe bend headderout a little.

daft design when could have had a remote res instead

but will it not mount if you twist the shock through 180°, i.e. so the reservoir is on the opposite side?

and the shock is built with off sets in the top and lower mounts.

just spotted this when saw another wilbers shock

looks like spacers are not on right side. both should be on the res side not one offset from the other

If you undo both rose joints one full turn,
then mount the shock on the bike.

It will allow you to swivel the shock to any radial position,
when you find one that gives enough clearance.
Measure the gaps each end with feeler gauges and get some shim washers made up to those sizes.

Just a thought.

I do think it's a piss poor fitment from Wilbers.

Oh ya god awful design

Was thinking the exact same thing as you were saying

I had it in yeaterday with offsets on correct dide and noe its rubbing headder not pushed hard against it
