Wilbers vs Technoflex

I have trawled through the previous posts but cannot find any comparisionns so wanted to know

Does anybody have any experience of these two sets of shocks side by side, been into my local dealer (sells both items) who has stated that the Technoflex are a better product.

They both look similar in material quality, apparently they are both produced by ex w.p. employers and components made in the same factory, not sure how true this is.

Regards

Simon

tried to buy technoflex got no reply bought wilbers instead very happy.

hope that some help

if they were a fair whack cheaper they might be worth a chance. But them seem to be near enough the same price

well the wilbers bloke i spoke was german I paid in euros and they got shipped from germany so I guess they was germans. The technoflux have an office in Holland and never answered my call email or fax too busy skining up I guess...:augie

Ask John Gaskell at Revs Racing in Halesowen, he is the UK importer and sells both types. He did explain the differences when I wanted new shocks but couldn't buy directly from Wilbers USA.

From what I was told IIRC, the guys at Technoflex and Wilbers both used to work for the same outfit but have now gone their separate ways. The two brands look very similar so I wouldn't be at all surprised if they source or manufacture components from/for each other to keep costs and overheads down ? The quality and finish of the units is excellent.

I went down the Wilbers route and have been a thoroughly satisfied customer and delighted to recommend them to others. Be aware that unlike some 'off the peg' solutions such as Ohlins (which cost more and may still need rework to suit you) the Wilbers units are 'made to measure' and are built to suit you straight out of the box, and for less money.

Technoflex shock issues

I ordered a Technoflex shock for the my F650GS-A (single) because I was told Wilbers are no longer available in the US. :eek I have had nothing but issues. The shock they sent did not fit correctly and the lines to the external adjustors were cut by the chain - I took it back to the guy I got it from and now 8 months later I still do not have a shock :mad:because they do not know how to set it up for my bike - I'd run from them if possible I have not at all been impressed by their US support.
