We are off on a Spain / Portugal trip tomorrow. I wonder anyone has any current ‘on the ground’ info on the wildfire situation, we are planning to travel from Colviha to Viseu to Vila Real on Monday. Some of the news maps say there may be ongoing firefighting in progress in that vicinity

I use this...
It is from my computer, but I also have it as an app on my phone, I guess the website will tell you how to get the app.

I have also noticed google maps are now showing information about areas affected and road closures.

Keep away from affected areas and you will be OK....This is the driest I have seen it in September and people are careless, fires spring up all over the place and Portugal is currently accepting help from France, Spain and Greece in the form of water bombers.

That's great thanks, looks like we will have to abandon the route we had north from Vila Real to Chaves

Di Nada, enjoy your trip. (y)

Looking at the app just now and it looks as though they are getting a handle on it all, personnel reduced along with machines and some in resolution.
The weather is set to cool from tomorrow and rain is moving in, so you may be OK.

My German friend has a Brother who lives in the area affected and he told me it was improving.

September has been and gone, seemingly without the world coming to an end. Now it’s Hurricane Milton that’s occupying the minds of bikermates of UKGSerland.

Are shadows still on the list?
