Hi,

In my quest for a replacement shock for the bumble, I have been offered a fairly low mileage Fournales shock from a 93 PD. Will this shock fit my bike, and is the Fournales a good prospect? Will I need to go and buy the special pump to adjust it? I know nothing about these.

Thanks for your ongoing help and understanding.:thumb

Yes, the Fournales will bolt straight on, PD is same frame etc as the 'basic' paralever..and yes you need their pump as well:) Plus if going offroad keep a metal bar the length of the two mounting points of the shock...then if the shock suddenly fails...you bolt this in it's place to get you home :thumb2

So these shocks tend to fail more than a sprung one? I have searched on here and elsewhere online and I have not found a lot of reviews or information.

They are excellant shockers but if they do fail ( remember no spring ) then they collapse..so the bar is just a precaution in case you are in the middle of knowhere :thumb2
Fournales also do a full reconditioning service as well.....it won't let you down :)

I had Fornales shocks on a couple of machines:thumb great shocks and as stated rebuild is no problem, you do have to get the air pressure correct thou
that will come after a week or two. The Fornales pump is about £39:eek:
go to a push bike shop same pumps £28 VERY high pressure pumps...
Oh! and you can get ( from Fornales ) a flexy hose ( remote valve )if the valve in hard to get at.

Thanks for the info. Would I need to tweak the pressure if going 2-up rather than solo, for example? It seems a bit of a faff if I have to change the pressure for each change in load on the bike, but maybe I am just not getting it yet. It does take a while for me to work stuff out. :thumb2
