Sorry I am sure this has been dealt with in the past but I experience high wind turbulance (blast) around the helmet. I have tried setting the windshield from the lowest to the highest and in between. Doesn't seem to make any difference. I am 5ft 10in. (178cm). Any suggestions apart from keeping my head down? Thank you.

I would agree with the keep your head down comment bearing in mind the number of theads available on this subject.

If this doesn't attract a damned good rant i'll start another oil thread.

MRA vario touring screen, loads of adjustment. Although it doesn't get rid of the noise it cures the buffeting, but the noise I put down to my Tour X anyway:D

Hi Lean, I have the same problem, and have it on the R1200C that I also have, the C also has a relatively small screen so I think its a case of size does matter. The C replaced a Heritage Softail and that was fitted with a big touring screen that had width, using the same helmet (Nolan flip up type) the noise level was must less. So any way to increase the screen size will help, I will be looking to do the same so let me know if you find a good solution. Although I guess getting the bits won't be so quick in Singapore.

ride safe.

slow down, much cheaper, less wind buffeting, less fuel consumption, better for enjoying the vista's before you.

Just better in every way.

We all have bikes so where does the idea go slow come from and save fuel?

Thats not why I bought a bike to be some tree hugger or yoghurt knitter

old bean I was just following the thread, matey who started it said he got wind problems and was being buffetted about. Which he did not like most people suggested getting a bigger screen at about £300, my solution is simpler. Slow down which also saves £300 which you could spend on milk derived knit wear if you so choose. Give to charity or spend hookers and charley whichever floats yer boat the most.

My solution is one many solutions and if you ride a GS for speed the bloke who sold it to you misrepresented the goods on sale.

The Adventure screen

"Fit an Adventure screen. £300 is a lot for a screen but it transforms the bike." .......I agree and fit the winglets as well. It will give better weather protection, It looks right on the bike and is a genuine BMW part (hence the price!) and is easy to swop using existing fitiings plus an extra support - which is ideal for mounting a GPS.

I didnt buy it for speed, although its fast enough for me, I bought it as its a great bike and had great reviews and is my first bike for since I had a Suzuki A50K in 1978. No one sold it to me I chose the model myself, I never even had a test ride I just knew I would like it. So I ticked all the options on the order form and placed my order.
Since getting the bike in Feb I have done 2000 miles, best thing I have ever done.
Working for BMW the big fat discount was the icing and the cherry on the top.

That's a far better suggestion get a job at BMw and enjoy the fringe benefits... now I got ya... much cheaper than a £300 screen that's where I went wrong all these years...

I'll get a yogurt knitted coat
