Windows media cd to mp3

I need to convert cd's saved in windows media to mp3 format, is there an easy way or free download for a computer numpty to follow

I think you can look at your ripping settings in Windows Media Player and change them so that the output is mp3. Then pop your cd in and go to rip and there you have it.

Hope you are talking music (to mp3) and not video (to mp4) because if it's the latter you might have problems. Saying that, if it's licensed stuff there maybe some issues as well.
