As it says. Is that possible? I would like to have a hard copy print out of my library so I can share my music collection with friends. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I have had a rummage in the help and the menu's to no avail.
Thanks in advance for any ideas :)

The only way I can find how to do this is open the folder in which your music tracks are stored. Highlight them all (edit and select all) then copy and paste them to a Word Document. You will then have a list of all your tracks and artist. If you have sub folders for albums then you will need to type in the album name of then copy and paste the individual tracks under it.

Hope this helps but I'm sure someone will come up with a better solution!

install Musicmatch jukebox... now taken over by Yahoo:mad: and they fecked it up

but you can still download a copy of the non yahoo version MMJB from

http://www.mininova.org/tor/663818

if you can use torrents that is:D

far far better than i tunes the only problem is that it doesn't work on Vista

I'm in th eoffice today so can't check but IIRC the Playlist files - *.WPL are in XML format - do these not give you the detail you are after ?

I use a powertoy from Microsoft for the job

Download the media player powertoy which is actually titled "media player 9 winter fun pack" from microsoft <a href=http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/wm_winterfun.mspx>here</a> (although is says media player 9 it seems to work ok with media player 11 as well)

In with this download is a neat application to export your music library and playlists to excel. Once installed run media player, click on the library tab to display your library, and under primary views right click songs and choose send to...media info exporter and it will export all the songs in your library along with artist, album and a whole host of other info into excel. From there you can sort and print in any order you like.

Full instructions on how to use it are <a href=http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/howto/MediaInfoExp.aspx>here</a> from Microsoft website

Hope this helps

thanks guys, I think the app that Biggsie mentioned is what i am after. I'd like a complete hard copy index of my music library so it sounds like that would work well by exporting to excel.
P.S Trev, I don't "DO" the "I" thing. It's a matter of principle! ;)
