Yet again it is trying to destroy my sanity. What is easy to use, cheap, and works with GoPro generated videos?

Don't need professional quality, but want something that doesn't keep on deciding it doesn't like what it produced.

A review of some possible free alternatives HERE John, but I have a feeling you may not need them.....Windows Movie maker is pretty solid usually.

It might be worth looking at the problem rather than trying to find an alternative.......I must admit, I've never played with GoPro, so I have no idea what format or limitations the produce from it has, but I suspect you may be able to overcome them :)

Mac .... iMovie :thumb

Wonderful :D

GoPro have their own video editing which is available as a free download. I'm told it's very good :thumb

I'm trying to edit some videos from the holidays, and saved them as a project as a "my movies", and then went back and it doesn't recognise them, and the "help" suggests updating windows movie maker, which I do, and (1) it hasn't fixed the problem and (2) it now needs to convert those which aren't a problem, except (3) the next version recognises even less than the old version and (4) it takes even longer to convert from the old version, than it need to convert them into the movie maker format.

Garmin, amateurs by comparison.

Pinnacle studio works very well with windows especially if files are large, windows movie maker only works on smaller files, if you have a Mac thats the way to go but you might have to convert to DV if your camera is not compatible.

Thanks for that, trying to save the "projects" in Movie Maker as a Movie, and then play them on the same laptop with Windows Media Player and media player won't play them as far as I can tell if they're too big. Arrgh!

Gotta say it's very good and set to work for numpties (me) or experienced users alike.

I've just got hold of Adobe Premiere Elements and have to say it's even better but I'm sticking with learning iMovies properly first.

Back to the OP, I used the basic Windows package and found it to be very good if not a bit basic and never had any issues over file size and play back so am not sure what to suggest. Is your computer old/slow/full?

About 2 years olf laptop, but it didn't like cineform a while back, so I'm starting to wonder if it's a drivers issue, even though the movie was made in a windows product and another windows product doesn't like it.

I heard that too, I don't have a gopro but shoot film with a few different devices, I use Lightworks on my PC which is a shareware program, absolutely top class. Bit of a learning curve though.
On my phone I use KineMaster which is the absolute biznes, it is so good I actually pay the monthly subscription. It is the only App I have ever paid for. And I don't even have to...
