Windows XP help

I have searched for this on the forum but can't find the answer, its probably so basic its never been mentioned! However, I aint to up on computers, so here it is.... I have recently got XP on the home computer and am having problems opening web pages to full page. For instance when I click on the GS icon on my desk top it initially opens up just bigger than a letter box. If I then click the maximise button it opens up correctly to a full page and I can carry on looking at other pages on the site with no problems. If I then come out of the site and go back in, it again opens up like a letter box. It does this for other web pages. Any one help sort this for me please?

it should open to the same size it was in when shut down.

to make the minimised size bigger (and stay that way).left click on the e icon in top left corner, click Size, drag sides/corners until it's the size you want, click inside the pane. it should now stay that size.

Cookie's suggestion usually works for me. Try here.

You could try this software, but I haven't used it and can't vouch for it being virus free. If you download it, as with all unknown stuff, virus check it first.

Art thou using the software from the Bill Gates prince of evil, known as Internet Explorer?

Download Mozilla Firefox and let that install as default browser.

Then set up this site and your other frequently used ones in Favourites.

Any window that opens too small can be bossed around as follows..... chaps..click on the program..it opens in a tiny box...click the maximise window tab..hold the mouse arrow on any side bar of the window until you see a two way arrow..drag that side to the required size..repeat for all sides until you have it at your desired size..now SHUT it down by the red X /top right.
XP will remember this setting next time this program is opened. Please note the window must be shut down at once so XP can log the size.
