Hi all.

I have read all the threads about all the screen options and have probably decided to go for the GSA screen. In order to spread the cost I will probably get the winglets first and the other bits later.

Question is: what can I expect using the winglets and standards screen? Do they make much difference on their own?

Also does anyone have any piccies of the NN winglets fitted? Theye are a different shape and don't look too good (to me anyway) on the NN website. Being a bit cheaper I would like to see if they are as good.

Cheers

PS. Has anyone tried the GSA as a straight replacement i.e. without all the supports extra bolts etc.

At the risk of coming across as being sarastic, but the search function on the bar above is your best friend, honestly :thumb2

nn winglets

i have fitted nn winglets to my 1200gs work well stop wind and rain from hitting bottom of jacket i found them easy to fit as well

The reason the NN winglets are a different shape is they take into account the point at the bottom of the standard screen that the GSA screen does not have. If you buy the BMW winglets you will have to cut the points off the stock screen to mount the winglets in their correct location

Thanks for the non-sarcastic comment but I did spend several hours searching and din't find the answaers to my questions. Thats why I asked:thumb2

Geoff & terayon, thanks for the info. Any chance of any pictures?

I recently fitted the BMW winglets in the correct position without cutting the standard screen. I find that the screen at one notch above mid position suits me fine and this is about as far as it will go without surgery.

In terms of extra protection, I find that the winglets make a big improvement, since I've just returned from a trip to Germany which involved a lot of high speed Autobahn driving. There is a definite reduction in buffeting in the mid to upper body area and I found the faster you go the better the effect especially between 80 and 100 mph. Overall, a worthwhile addition.
