Nice piccies, whats the effect you are using on a lot of them, is it over sharpening? I'm seeing it used quite a bit in one of the bike mags.

It is called Dramatic tone, it has been a a secret weapon for a few people for a little while now, it comes as standard in some of the Olympus range of cameras, but it can be done in Photoshop, but takes a lot of work to replicate.
It can be hit or miss, I usualy take one with, one without, and then filter them out on the PC. All pictures taken with the incredible Olympus XZ1, the finest compact you can buy.
