Alpinestars 'Jet road' gloves, water proof and warm (Gortex and Thinsulate) Good level of protection too with carbon knuckles plus wrist and hand fastening. Around £65.

the best advice i can give is to buy the gloves in a larger than normal size, as the holding on to the bars crushes the lining and as we all know the thermal lining works by trapping air around the hand. so a tight pair lose there ability to trap said air. also make sure that they are sold to you as waterproof, that way if they do leak within a year ( normal garantee ) you will get a replacement pair . keep the reciept

Went to HG yesterday for the same thing.

They have a new flip over cuff system that looked pretty good as a water seal, however I opted for their gortex mid range and will use liners when needed so they are sufficiently oversized - the old addage layers are better plus its more versatile.

I'll be looking for a pair of Steptoes muffs when the wimp factor kicks in.
