Winter Traffic update

Luckilly, I had this week booked off work - Dropped the missus in town with the Discovery and came home to see what riding the byways around Basingstoke in snow would be like...

Hardest bit was getting out of my road - two crashed cars at jaunty angles, left abandoned - gritted my teeth (not literally) and got onto the blacktop to find some lanes.

The M25 may be blocked, but the Devils Highway is most certainly open - Unfortunately I wasn't the first down it - looks like a LR had been down there first

Not too deep, ony about 2" - Will hopefully go out again if it snows again tomorrow to find some a bit further afield!

Yup - It is a keeper

As you can see, it has had some fair usage, done a number of the welsh trails and rallyes along with enduros and the fun on the byways. Done about 3 times the mileage it had on when I bought it and god knows how many sets of tyres. Clutch is slipping now though, I will change the oil to see if clears otherwise I will have to split the case and take the plates out and check them for wear.

I had Tony Woodhams (KTM Mechanic and Patsy Quicks Dakar Mechanic) service it once a year for all the big things and he said it was a good-un - You must have run that engine in well I probably don't keep it as clean as you did though - although mechanically it is in better condition than the GS!

You got anything to replace it yet - you were after a smoker if I recollect right - you want to meet on the plain? I might even let you have a go on it (if you can get your leg over - I have jacked the suspension up for my 34" leg)

I only ever used Motrex oil in it (10/50 I think?) as I'd read that changing to other brands can sometimes cause the clutch to drag but no one ever mentioed it slipping still it is a powerful old beatsie

Looking really for a CRM or something similar that I'm not having to be all precious over tho not found anything as yet
