Appeal following Co Laois assault

An investigation has been launched after an assault on a woman near Borris-in-Ossory in Co Laois last night.
The woman, who is in her early 30s, was driving on the road between Borris-in-Ossory and Errill at around 9.30pm last night when she approached what appeared to be a motorcycle accident.
When the woman stopped to help she was assaulted by one of the motorbike riders.
She managed to get away and stopped at a filling station.
The woman was later taken to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise and treated.
Gardaí in Abbeyleix are investigating the incident.
