Had a Street Pilot 3 since 02 the sound has gone down and is almost inaudable.

Phoned Garmin today asked for technical (does not seem to exist), but sales quoted me £95.00 for standard service rectification if possible. which everyones knows is more than the unit is worth.

Has anyone with electrikery knowledge had the back off one, can you point me in a direction what I should be looking for or is there information anywhere regarding sound/speech problems on Street pilot 3.

Nope - but I'd rule out the intercom or whatever you are listening to it through.

You can buy a 3.5mm to 2.5mm jack converter from Maplins for about a quid and plug some headphones straight into the unit. Note that these converters are usually mono so you'll only hear in one ear. Some mobile phone headsets would work just as well if you have one of those.

If the volume is OK then the problem is somewhere further down the line...

Hope that helps :thumb

Speaker packed in while being used in the car, had tried different external speakers, the problem is internal in the gps unit.
But thanks for input
