While trying to decide where I'm heading for my one week off-road trip this year, I see that World of BMW are planning an off-road trip to Portugal, cost is £1149 http://www.worldofbmw.com/content/article.asp?article=485&artDate=30/03/2006

Wilderness Wheels has also been recommended to me as the best way to ride Morocco when time is limited. A Fly and 5 day ride costs something similar but on a hired bike http://www.wildernesswheels.com/site.en/7day.htm
I am checking to see if I could ship my HP2 there.

Any thoughts on Portuguese dirt vs Moroccan sand?

Keep your diary clear near the end of the year ;) very limited spaces, and sharing the transport costs and driving. The vehicle has already been purchased . Thats all i'm saying at the moment

Moroco has to be done fantastic country good roads good offroad and a lot cheaper than europe .

Just been quoted £2700 for a return freight for my HP2 to Morocco and back :eek ! makes a World of BMW trip seem like good value

Edited...Sorry Jenna, but you need to be a site sponsor to sell anything or plug any sort of commercial services :nono

Cheers Novice. Just looked at the site http://www.ktmadventuretours.co.uk/ and I agree they look good but I want to use the HP2.

Jeremy.....I'll be taking a load of bikes down to Morocco towards the end of the year...dates yet to be set (I'm still working on the insurance issue to make sure all the bikes are fully covered in transit) but the plan is to run two trips, one for pogos and one for GS's....We'll pick up the bikes on a Saturday, then you'll fly into Marakesh the following Saturday, do a week (or possibly more) touring/offroading then fly back to the UK from Marakesh.

The bikes then come back 4 or five days later.

It'll be mixed campingand cheaper hotels.

Watch this space ;) :thumb

Thx Bill, that's very much appreciated. I'd be interested. I assume this is separate to Steptoe's yr end Morocco trip when he's driving the bikes down on a trailer.

errr no offence but i clearly stated NON profit making!!!!! and in line with your comment why has the links to the PROFIT MAKING sites not been removed????

lol your loss, not mine!. (do you also ban all charitable posts too???) or is this a case of the site needed to make money by backdoor methods than protecting the content!!... wont trouble you guys again.

Hmm apologies then...I missed the non profit bit. :(

As for the links put up by other people, it may seem a bit odd but the reason we delete stuff from non-sponsors is so we don't just get loads of hit and run spammers....usefull links and personal recomendations are fine ;)

Makes £1500 for three and a bit weeks seems cheap :thumb

Oh but there maybe a couple of nights that are not in 3* plus hotels

Oh and it won't be easy ;)

Oh but is fantastic fun :clap
