Thank you for looking
I have a Kenwood TK3101 radio which i just bought second hand i know it works.
Used it once with a mate excellent i may add
got back un plugged it from myautocom and now it wont work.
Not getting any power tried the radio straight from the plug which has the same five pins as the autocom power feed and still nothing.

So does anyone know where i could get my radio looked at or advice what ican do to check its working. I have pressed the transmitt button at the side and thats how i know i am getting nothing as the wee led light at top is not comming on. Turned it off and on again.

Thanks again for looking:thumb

Oh i live in Bonnie Scotland near Perth if that is any help

Hi
the battery isnt flat as its on a trickle charger and iam using the bike
the radio uses the bike power not a battery
Cheers

Is the radio completely dead.
If so then first port of call is power supply.

A trickly charger is used to charge a battery.
Even if its on charge a knackered battery can still be flat.

I suspect though that what you have is a battery eliminator. Is that right?
I.e. it plugs into the radio in place of a battery.

you are correct i have a battery elimanator
there is power going through the cable as i get the autocom working from it ie. i have my ipod fitted to it and i hear the music

as AA

find the battery and battery charger, get the radio battery fitted and put on charge, leave for a hour incase radio battery is flat.

try it now if still no luck then you may have popped something in the radio ? there is a thread somewhere of someone fitting a new aerial connector to one of these models, it'll show you how to take it too bits in case theres a wee internal fuse
