Writing CDs

Just putting my holiday snaps onto cd...........................

My problem is they dont appear on the cd in the same order as i write them..............................

So when i click film strip (XP) they come out all mixed up, what am i doing wrong ?

are they appearing alphabetically perhaps?

or are you viewing them (on cd) with a different priority in view>arrange icons?

Do a copy straight from camera to CD alls fine but to hard disc first and there all out of order.

what order are they in when in file on hard drive (name? date?size?)? and what order do they appear in on burnt cd?

all those and more can be specified when viewing cd.

BTW are you using xp's built in cd writing software? 'cos it's pants, does all sorts of dopey things. it's supplied by Roxio who make Easy CD. if they made free xp version any good you'd not shell out for retail version.

consider using Nero Burning ROM or Easy CD

its amazing.. can even burn text into the cd so u know whichc is which..

what, visible text on cd surface?

not found that function yet. giz a clue.

note to fitzdangle: i use nero, but it is a bit of a sod to get to grips with. worth it for the many functions though.

easy cd is er easier but not as versatile
