Wunderlich 'BagPacker' II / III

My good lady and I are off for a two week trip over Easter and I'm looking for as much packing volume as I can get - anything for a peaceful life!

My questions to the panel are:

Is there a real difference between the Wunderlich BagPacker II and the BagPacker III pannier top bags?

If so what?

And are either of them any good?

Can't see the III in their catalogue.

What sort of panniers are you looking to attach then to? The standard plastic Vario offering or BMW's ubber aluminium jobbies?

Any old bag will do, strap it on and go. You can get free straps from your friendly local dealer.

What do you usually use for your two weeks away with the little lady on your steed?

Great product, will use it in my upcoming trip to South America, fit on top of the BMW cases of my BMW GSA 1200 very well. Materials and zippers quality is very good. Very pleased with the product, will see how it will perform during our Reviewed by Miguel from Casper, WY (1.7.2013)

(ii) If you are new to touring.... You will take too much, trust me.... Having more space to fill only encourages it. Pack once, unpack, halve the packing, re-pack and repeat (several times). Don't believe me? Fine. Take a note of what you take and what you wear and what you could quite easily have washed out and / or not bothered with. The hundred or more you will spend on the bags can be better spent on some reasonably good travelling clothes, easy to wash and a bit if travel soap. You won't be meeting royalty.







Edit: Feck me, you have been riding motorcycles for 43 years. That's longer than the GS has been in production. You'll work it out.

You are quite right I have been riding a looooong time and my good lady has been pillioning with me for all but one of them. I showed SWMBO the bags on-line last night and she said "do we need more
luggage?" You can't win for losing sometimes.

Excellent. You've arrived at a decision.

Your mistake was to gauge the opinion of a woman on anything as technical as a bag to strap on top of a motorcycle pannier. They are not up to the chalenge any more than you are equipped to deal with answering which handbag is best or which of 15 pairs of shoes goes with the choice of 17 dresses and 8 hats. Know your limits.

Though she does appear to be one step ahead of you, questioning the amount of luggage you intend to take.
