I've looked throught the screen thread, but can't seem to find anyhting much about this one. It looks right in the pics, so I'm thinking of getting one. Want the extra height.
Anyone got one?

If you search Wunderlich Ergo quite a bit pops up, members buying and selling also what I would do is pm the buyer or seller or both and ask their opinion of it, you know real from the mouth of the horse knowledge so to speak :thumb2 :beerjug:

:rob But to do the pm bit you have to subscribe :thumb worth its weight in gold ;) :D

yes, I've got one Johnny. After much research and trying a few out I opted for the Vario. if you give Mike at Sporttouring a ring he will let you borrow one to fit and take for a spin to see if it is the right one for you.

I have the Ergo and will be trying it today,so watch this space.

Absolutely, half my bike has come from members in the for sale section:thumb

I've got the high screen, it's fine but I find a bit more height at higher speeds would be better to reduce buffeting and wind roar.
I keep considering the addition of a Vario-ERGO Screen Deflector but haven't found it bad enough to rush out and buy one.

A wunderlich screen and extender came with my bike, but Im not sure which one it is.

The wunderlich extender was too small and shaped in a way that some air would go underneath it. I dont have and good photos of it, but you can see it here

I designed a shape so that the air cant go under and is also a bit taller. I took the template to a plastic shop to get cut out. Then I just used a toaster to heat it up to bend it the same as the screen.

Now it is much better and you hardly need earplugs at all when travelling at highway speeds.

not got one yet

I was hoping to get one over the weeknd, but am thinking on a bit more....
I notice M&P accessories sell an Isotta screen which Tim Cullis on here said about three years ago seemed to be the same as the Ergo. Presume they are made in Italy for Wunderlich and then go to Germany to have the expensive sticker put on....
Anyone seen them side by side? Are they the same thing?
The Wunderlich is £150 at some places, the M&P one is £120-ish.
I've got a 30th Anniv, with the tinted screen, but could still do with something taller for motorway riding. The Ergo/Isotta seems to be tall and also has a decent shape.

Wunderlich Ergo Vario Screen - bit of a write up I did on this in reponse to an earlier thread.

I have one fitted to my F800GS. Really easy to fit - just take out fixing screws for standard screen (actually a bit more complicated for me as I had the BMW touring screen fitted so needed to reinstate the fairing brackets) and follow very clear instructions. Build quality is good - the screen comes in two sections - bottom half smoked and a thinner clearer adjustable top section. This top section then has quick release catches to enable further adjustment - but there is a sliding range for fixing the top section (before adjustment) so quite a lot of scope for getting the thing set just right. Only issue I had was that one of the carriage bolts which hold the two pieces of screen together was not properly threaded and so permamently loose and it took a good couple of weeks for Nippy Normans to source replacments from Wunderlich.

Once on and moving, the first thing I noticed was the reduction in blast to the chest, hands and shoulders - it really deflects well at hand level and is much wider than the BMW screens (stock & touring). It does flex quite a lot, which took some getting used to - but I am 6'4" and had it extended to the full.

Couple of minor downsides - as it is v. wide my handguards just touch the screen at full lock which has no effect on riding (touch - not restrict) but means that the whole lot will have to come off at MOT time. Also, the adjustment release levers appear to be designed specifically to scratch the lower screen when released. They could really do with rubbers/plastic coating - which I'll do when I can be bothered - oh, and just a little more thickness on the upper section would be better - but a v. minor gripe!

The problem, as with all screens - is whether they actually work for an individual. I found that on lowest setting I was very sheltered up to neck level but got full blast on the helmet of 'not quite clean' air; on higher settings and up to max things deteriorated until on the top setting I had turbulent air hitting the top of my helmet causing appalling head shake and noise. So I fitted a Wunderlich screen extender which has done the trick for me. This means that I am looking through or round it when going up hill or accelerating hard - but I don't see there's anyway round this. If you want the wind out of your face then you need a screen up to 'just below eye-level' which means that you are going to have to look 'through' rather than 'over' at some stage.

As we are all different sizes it's impossible to say - buy this it'll do the job - however, the Wunderlich Ergo Vario works for me and I'm happy to recommend it as a piece of kit.

HTH

The jury is still out at the moment on the Ergo adjustable. As JKW says at the top you get head shake,I have it slightly above it lowest position today and its much better.I will try the deflector and see how that pans out.My handguard touches on full left lock but not on full right  I will slacken the bars and rotate them slightly backwards, that should sort it.I will try various combinations over the coming weeks to try to find the sweet spot ;)

Mine did too! So loosened everything off, rolled the bars back and it touched on the other side! :blast So I gave up, put them back to where they were most comfortable and opted for the 'take them off for the MOT' approach. (Actually I traded the bike in for an RT - but that was not related to the Vario screen. :D)

the plain one...

I fancy the ordinary non-adjustable high one, not the Ergo Vario. Isotta also have a variable one on their website, which looks just like the german one, so assume they do manufacture for Wunderlich.
Anyone got the ordinary tall Ergo/Isotta?

I had one on my bike, I'm 6'5" and if I ducked slightly it was nigh on perfect.
I reckon if you are around 6'3" or less you'll like it:thumb2

I'm selling my bike so, the screen will be up for sale soon:aidan

I'm interested! I'm joing the site at the end of the week, so will be able to pm you!

Sorry mate, on my ipad, in tapatalk, too much wine.....didn't realise the post was in the 800 section, mines a 1200GS. sorry:blast:blast
