Thought I'd ask, haven't been able to find any posts relating to these, I'm chasing a set of bars that sit lower so I'm leaning forward somewhat, fitted the flowjet screen but do not want to be sitting bolt upright.

Has anybody fitted them? The blurb claims they're compatible with the heated bars and handguards. To have a bit of more lean would be great, I note they're slightly wider as well...

Bry,

I put them on my R1150GS, because I had a slight bend in the original bars (no laughing at the back please)...

Well made, heated grips wiring fitted, etc.
Handguards adaptor needed and even then I had to use some cableties.
I had to buy ROX risers to stop being crouched...
Vibes a bit more noticeable due no rubber damper which seems to do an important job in the original bars.

Yes, they are wider / flatter, but be sure that is really what you want....

I shortened my bars by cutting down the end-weights, also rotated them a little in the clamps. Proper job :thumb

hmmm, ok, thanks...

Just with the standard sit up and beg bars I wouldn't mind leaning forward more...

the wider bit's the only thing that concerns.

:)

Bars narrowed by cutting down the stub on the end-weights.

About 15mm either side makes a fair difference. See where BMW thoughtfully put a line around the throttle-side weight ?

I fitted TAG T2 bars to achieve what you describe Bry...lower, flatter....I like to 'lean' into the bars when riding and found the position and shape of the OE ones didn't suit me.

Heated grips, switch gear etc no problem, obviously work required on bar end weights for any aftermarket bars - see here

Great!

gives me some options at least! getting the price on the EX, the TAG's retail ~$150 over here...

Good info thanx.

Andy,

curious, for the bars you fitted, are they called the "Tag T2" or is there a specific "bend" name, found a supplier for them and there's the "quad", "suzuki", etc.....

:eek

which ones are in the photo?

Bry

Bry, TAG (TagMetals) is the brand, T2 is the bar type...
Tapered outer wall 11/8" to 7/8" for use with standard size grips and hand controls.
- Cold forged from aircraft quality 7049 T-6 aluminum for greater durability.
- Polished and anodized to a high gloss finish.
- Knurled grip & clamp area to resist slippage

Then there's 4 sizes/bends of T2 bar - I bought them second hand so haven't got the details but looking here, http://www.rushracing.co.uk/t2-bars_1_230_1.htm, can see that they are the...

As Bin said above, be sure that they're what you want, I got lucky with the height/bend suiting me.......anyone round your way got Renthals/Tag/whatever handlebars you could check out?

Not round these parts... can't think of any with changed bars

Thanx for that, I'll take ma chances... :augie

PERFECT!

:thumb2

Thanks for the heads up guys!

Got the TAG T2 Bars, and fitted, it feels just like my old Rockster, albeit with grunt.

I have a slght bend forward and elbows bent only a bit now. Sitting bolt upright was an issue. Got some barkbuster bar ends in for the moment until I can source the Rawl plugs described.
