Just enquired abou the price of the Wunderlich ADV superlow seat.(p/n 8161171) £438 from UK dealer - €448 on Wunderlich german website!!!

At current €/£ exchange rate this is over £120 cheaper!! Needless to say, Wunderlich.de will not ship to UK.

Has anyone used a friendly euro dealer either in Belgium, France or Ireland who would ship to me in the UK?

Alternatively, anyone in Belgium or Ireland or Spain(countries without Wunderlich dealers and can therefore order off wundrlich.de website) who would consider ordering and shipping me one in exchange for a few beers??

It's not just rip-off Britain. The Spanish distributor for Wunderlich has the seat at €516 plus postage.

I'll try and get it for you if you like. I always order to Germany and they ship to Belgium no problem. Drop me a PM with your phone details and I'll give you a call and we can discuss the details .
I'm not sure how much it would cost to post from Belgium to UK but I may even be able to get it over for free . My company has an office in Stoke Poges (near Slough) . If that is in your neighbourhood you could collect it from there maybe....
cheers

Thanks Gecko. Do you or anyone else know if the wunderlich.de prices include vat & postage? My german is non-existent so I can't tell. If they don't, then the difference may not be so great.

Wunderlich prices are including VAT, and as far as I could find they add 14,90 Euro for shipping to Belgium.

Did you check if www.boxer-design.de has your item in their store? I just saw they ship for free in Europe if you order for more than 250,- EUR. (valid till 31 jan 2005)

Interesting thread, the OFT (Office of Fair Trading) following up a report from Which (formerly the Consumers Association) have reported Apple's iTunes store to the European Commission for differential pricing in Europe see here
http://www.revolutionmagazine.com/News/index.cfm?fuseaction=ViewNewsArticle&ID=229749
and here http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/03/apple_itunes_euro_complaint/

I wonder if Wunderlich are aware of EU rules maybe an email to them, probably best if it can be sent in German, could persuade them of the error of their ways or a complaint to the OFT asking that they report Wunderlich as well.

They are very aware of this... I had a long telephone conversation with one of the Head Honchos at Wunderlich a couple of years ago when they first decided to stop selling to the UK direct....

He acknowledged that what they were doing was not strictly correct, but they had made a commitment/signed a contract with SPC....end of story as far as he was concerned....something I believe they may be regretting....

The thread back then ran and ran....nothing changed however...they just kept referring 'US' to SPC....:mad

Their loss, I've haven't bought anything from them since.....

I know as an individual, I will not affect their balance sheet greatly, but if enough folk get pissed off with the situation, then it may just start to tweak a little bit....

All I would like is a level playing field.......:(
