Wunderlich screen?

I am interested in a taller screen. I see that Wunderlich do a screen that is 14cm taller than the stock R1150GS screen.

Those nice SPC folks hava a demo screen that they are happy to fit onto my bike so that I can take it out for a spin. That would give a definitive answer my question - is the screen the right thing for me?

To save me a potentially wasted trip down to SPC though, maybe you could share your opinions on the screen if you already have one. I am 6'3" and find the current screen, on its most forward setting, puts my head right in the dirty air stream. If I duck my head down by a few inches it cleans things up and it goes much quieter.

I know this isn't the question you asked, but what about the Givi screen ? I think it looks better than the Wunderlich, and it is certainly very effective, like most Givi stuff. It bulges out a bit at the sides, which seems to keep the blast off your shoulders too.

I have just fitted the MRA screen and am incredibly pleased with it. I have to say I was a bit sceptical at first having already forked out for a GIVI screen.

I was amazed at the difference it made and personally, I think it looks the nuts.

I just happened to be passing Julian Soper Motorcycles near Southend - On - Sea and stopped in to look at his 1150GS. He had one fitted on his and I just couldn't walk away without buying one from him. At a guess I would say he is about 6' 2".

Food for thought eh. I can't imagine another screen working as well but I know nothing about the one you are going to try.

Put a Wunderlich screen on myne towards the end of last summer. Bought it on this site for a reasonable price, thinking if it wasn't right for me I could pass it on. But....very impressed. I never experienced the buffeting that others mention, but it has certainly raised the fly line and cut down wind noise. 8 out of ten. I am 6ft 1 and ride with the screen in the high position. Go and have your test ride.
