Wunderlich Upper Bars For R1200GS LC Rallye (blue frame) Fitting!

Hi all,

Has anyone fitted these to their bike? I was looking at my bike tonight and where the mounting bracket fits to the frame head according to the instructions you have to remove 2 bolts and nuts and discard these for new ones. That said if I have the right fixing point the nuts are welded to the frame head. Before I order these I want to make sure they fit and the mounting bracket doesn’t just butt up to the existing welded nuts!

Any help appreciated.

Hi Paddy,

I had exactly the same concern when fitting the Wunderlich upper bars to my '16 GS LC. The bracket does indeed butt up against the welded nuts, but the fitment is quite solid once you tighten everything up.

The bracket fits over the 2 welded bolts on my 2017 Exclusive, then you get supplied with longer bolts and nuts, it is no problem at all, you can see in Seans link in post 2 and also below is a clearer picture showing what I mean, also if you are getting uppers and lowers, do not forget to order the CENTER STRUT.

Hi, many thanks for the pictures, it’s now all become clear! I already have the lowers and a centre strut which runs between both sides of the lower bars. I presume it’s the same centre strut that is required for the upper bars?

Yes exactly that, if you have lowers and center strut, then all you need are the uppers, just be careful you select the correct year..........
