X Challenge (not) hot starting

My XC has an annoying trait of not restarting after stopping the engine or stalling.

The engine turns over OK but does not fire and in no time the battery goes flat and there is a girgling liquid sound when you come off the starter button.

Last time I went out I came off in some gloop on a green lane, got the flat battery and had to push it for half a mile through the mud to find a down hill road and it bump started quite easily.

Anyone else suffered the same and what was the answer?

i thought the G-series bikes were introduced in 2007.

is it not still under warranty?

It is still under warranty and being 2nd hand not sure about the battery, so what is the story with the upgrade battery?

I know it should go in but it is not due a service yet and it is big ag getting it to the dealer (not that pushing a half mile in gloop is easy)

My x challenge won't start again today , dealer to order new battery.

Battery

I bought the bike from vines (ex bmw promotions)
had the yearly service at Cw's where they mentioned it had
the uprated battery fitted,
i was told the originals were'nt up to the job

Battery was replaced under warranty.

I have heard of other instances where the batteries in the G650 have given up the ghost after about 12 months. My XChallenge 's battery was replaced under warranty, at about 12 monthe old, and I'm almost certain it will be replaced again before the warranty is up hopefully with this new fangled "Uprated Battery".

BTW, I bought my bike second hand.

Are you sure it's the original battery
i only found out at the yearly check that Vines had replaced mine
