X Country shock length

On a related note, has anyone managed to replace the bottom mount on the XCountry Sachs shock? The spherical bearing in mine has failed and while it will start to unscrew from the shock it goes tight after a few turns and I don't want to force it.

Can't really help you with that one Viv without seeing the unit. Maybe leave it soaking in WD40 or similar, wind it in backwards and forwards a little at a time, going further each time. Good luck with it :thumb

Also .... welcome to the site, get stuck in and enjoy :)

Thanks.

it's not corroded or anything like that, it's something mechanical that is stopping it.

Here's a picture of one like mine:

You'd think that loosening the lock nut would be enough to allow the joint to be removed but nay it appears to allow adjustment of the length only.

It's slightly annoying for a bearing that only costs around £20 to replace.
