XC Rims - too many holes?

Sort of a trivial pursuit type question I suppose .....

Does anyone know why there are 3 valve holes in the rims of the X-Challenge?

Also, has anyone used this product http://www.nuetech.com/ to convert tubed to tubeless? Comments?

The 2 extra with rubber plugs are for Rim Locks

Interesting and he made it look easy in the fitting video as well. I would be tempted if they get some more in stock.
