Xchal Radiator hard part (TT)

Did the original Xchals' have any frame issues? I have just taken delivery of and fitted a TT radiator hard part. (The bar that fits just under the rad to deflect big knocks) What a PITA!!!

The problem I had was that there was extra weld all over both sides of the frame. It looked like someone had done the inital weld then went back over it all again, as if to strengthen the joint. Fair enough, but I hadn't noticed it before and it wasn't too tidy looking. Having spoken with DavidJames, who received the same item, he has had the same issue. It was a proper wrestle to get both brackets fitted.

I 'encouraged' the brackets to close with a hammer and a long bar from the other side. I also noticed that the powder coat where the brackets hook into the main bar was too thick and prevented them locating properly. It was a struggle but got there in the end.
