I have a weeping fork seal in my XC.
I've replaced fork seals on marzocchi forks before, but these were on the conventional magnums.
With the USD's on the XC, do i strip the forks by removing the cap on top of the fork leg, and pushing the slider back into the lower leg, as i would have done with the conventional magnums??
i've just been looking at this microfiche:
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=50282
From this it looks as though the dampers have been turned upside down as well, so i would need to remove part number 3 listed here:
http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=50282
and then just undo the damper rod from inside and release the spring pressure?
Also does anyone have any tips for a cheap seal driver? I used to used a bit of 2" waste pipe on the last set of forks, but these didn't have to be slid over the axle mount on the fork leg?
Just had a quick look around and a specialist driver costs around £50..
