XChallenge or XCountry??

Now I maybe a bit slow but ...

You've just done the best part of 700 miles in 3 days on the XC and it performed well. In what way would the X Country do better?

Cos Mr Smooth and Gracie have done the same 700 miles on their XC's (Countries) in the same three days ... and none was the better ;)

The seats are much better

The 19/17 wheel set allows a Tourance fitment (plus TKC'S for dirt)

Good choice of screens

Lower seat height

No air shock, so better sprung shock for road & some light trails ( I now have XR250 for trails too)

I have particularly liked the 66mpg, the big GSA would have been 20 mpg worse, whereas the 650's positively sip fuel, even when being caned

John wants a bike with a lower seat so that he can get his leg over. Mind you, when I got home last night i'd done 224 miles on my Xchallenge and my backside was starting to get a bit sore. Covered a total 830 miles over the weekend with a return of 72 mpg. Bike was brilliant, never missed a beat.

Hi Rossi,

have you still got this?

Nathan

Hi Nathan

Still there although, having had extra padding added to my other seat which made it a bit higher, I will probably keep the low seat for the currently rare occasions when I get to ride off road.

The bike is turning into a bit of an adventure bus at the moment and is mainly getting used on the road. I bought a TT tank and made a bigger screen angled closer to vertical with a dash between it and the headlight shroud, still got some extra electrics to mount on the dash. Still on the original shock - squeaking less again after another dose of silicone spray. Can't afford a hyperpro but pretty happy with the WP43/airshock combo so I will probably just fit a 2nd hand airshock. A change of job required a degree of respectability so the Remus is sitting at the back of my shed and the original can (sans cat) has been refitted.

Just trying to decide on a direction to travel for a couple of weeks this summer. Brittany Ferries to Santander is affordable but Scandinavia might be on the cards.

well I vote for the Country. Here's mine, slightly modified on the road to Berjand in the Iranian desert with a KTM that later crapped out and fell apart all over the place.
