Popped into my local dealers today to look at a 2nd hand hp2 but it had been sold,
then i saw the XChallenge which looked very smart in the flesh and i could
reach the floor :thumb2
the thing is when i asked the price the dealer said how much it was but
because it's xmas he could do a better deal,
now my dealers are excellent but are as tight as a ducks bottom and to be offered discount was a bit of a shock.
Are bmw finding it hard to shift these bikes

Yep, some dealers have not even sold (retailed to a punter) any G Series bikes all year and it is alleged that they won't be in production in 2008.............so there are bargains to be had

Main reasons seem to be - functionality (lack of) and price too high.....whereas F650GS seem to be huge in the demand stakes and still very popular and residuals are good

G Series - only in production for a short time, maybe:rolleyes:

John Clarks have a load of new G650 Motos on ebay and the top price they attracted was £2750:eek::eek::eek:

The guy at John Clarks in Dundee told me he hadn't sold 1 and he thinks that its because they are made by Aprillia. I personally don't think thats anything to do with it and can't understand why more havn't been sold apart from the price as they are fantastic bikes. I did the BMW Offroad course on one and it was superb. I think they are selling okay on the continent.

Grab yourself a deal - oh by the way what did he offer you one at??

Retails at£5995 i've rang around and i'm down to £5250 so far,
though one dealer had some comming from the bmw off road center
at around £2500 but was warned that condition was'nt great and mutterings
about bent rims and handlebars kinda put me off

all i can say about the "aprillia" thing is that my old m reg 650 is the best thing iv had, goes anywhere, never fails, hope my 1150 will be as good, but ur right, prices could be lowered??

I think the only one that would appeal to most buyers in UK is the X-Country.The 650gs appealed to many because of the low seat height whereas the X-series has high seat heights. I think BMW underestimated that point quite a bit!!
