I'm looking to replace the rear caliper without remortgaging the house as the inner brake pad is at a funny angle due to the caliper casting getting warped or eroded at some stage!!,can anyone tell me what other bikes use the same caliper so I can try and find one at a breakers.

Cheers,mick

Try srcsalvage on eBay. They were breaking an x country recently. Engine, forks and shock were advertised recently, but I think now been sold.

Also try motobins and motorworks.

Good luck.

Thanks for reply gfj.
I have contacted motorworks and have some compatible parts off the xmoto they are breaking but the rear caliper on the xmoto is different to the challenge, don't know if that is the case with the xcountry so could try SRC.

Cheers

This Is the Xmoto caliper.

I thought the calipers were the same just the disk/ wheel different.
Post up a picture of yours.
The Xmoto is a standard brembo unit, single piston on slider pins.

To my knowledge the only difference is the black part that the caliper is carried on, the x challenge one is slimmer where the spindle goes through compared to the others,i had to change mine, got an x moto caliper and had the black part where the spidle goes through machined down to the correct size.
Spindles are the same its as though the x moto doesn't use a spacer on the brake side and it is made up by the caliper, if you know what I mean.

Hmmm,so if that's the case I could use a caliper from a country or moto and fit it to the challenge caliper mount??

Yes but you would need the bit that the spindle goes through machining down a bit, the face between the swingarm and disc if you know what I mean.

Not if I I took moto/country caliper off its mount(black part) and fitted on challenge existing mount(after removing old worn caliper)???
