XCountry musings........

That's an interesting read JB , I did think about x country but decided it was a tad short for me at 6 ft 3 but I reckon it's good bike for overlanding, funny enough my mate who has just brought your old xc was going for the x country but then yours popped up for sale and he was smitten!! , I must say I was jealous it had done more miles than mine but it's much better condition than the one I brought and it also had a hypro already fitted, I should have hung on :blast.

An interesting read. I first looked at the XCountry back in 2008 when I returned to biking after a break. It was expensive for what it was and I settled on a 650 Versys which I still have. I finally bought an XCountry last year. A couple of nights ago my son and I were musing over the bikes we share, and both agreed the XCountry is a keeper. Nominally it is my wife's but for both of us it is the go to bike when we are fed up after a hard days work. It might make an excellent RTW bike, but it is also pretty dam good at turning five miles and three roundabouts into a big grin.

I look after my bikes, with a passion;)

I had it 5 years from virtually new(280 miles), until I sold to Dale last year ....................because I wanted the XCountry strangely even though i'm 6'1

The XChallenge is a great bike, but I wanted a better screen option and seat etc

In reality there's not much to choose between them

Your dead right about the condition I rode it this Evening, the tony archer seat he got with it I've now pinched:D,
I found the screen pretty good, mine hasn't got anything at present,I'm still cleaning mine, yours turned up it looked immaculate dale done you proud.
