Yet another gearbox oil question...

Before I put it back together, will Halfrauds 75w90s semi-synth GL5 be ok? It's the 75 bit I'm just a tad concerned about. Hope it is, got two litres of the stuff..

diggy went to halfrauds today n was told 20/50 that they sold ,it was only for old cars....not recomended for bikes

Thats exactly what I use.. its the right spec according to that nice mr haynes. (well near enough)

He actually says 80w90 - for all conditions.. but I doubt that using 75w90 will destroy the gear box. the difference between the two is in reality VERY small.

75w is just slightly thinner when it's cool. At operating temperature, both are are similar weights and will act the same.
