Hello all,

Just collected my first BMW (an 08 GSA) and having a blast. My wife has been nagging me on and off for several years to get a "decent" bike. She worries about me when I take off on one of my trips that the Triumph Tiger I used to ride was going to give up on me (it didnt by the way!) and I would never return..
The challenge now of course is to try and live up to what the GS can offer and what my capabilities are. I hope I don't let it down..!
No doubt I shall be bugging you with all sorts of 'stupid' questions for a while till I get used to the bike.

Best regards,

Rod

Hey you wont regret getting a GS I'm sure and ask as many questions as you wish. There's a search facility here too, just type in a key word and it should dip you into some of our archived threads which may help.

Have fun, enjoy your stay with us .... and please dont be afraid to ask away :)

Welcome Rob........ my partner got herself a 650GS... I was so jealous I went and got myself a 1200GS. My Triumph Trophy 900 is sitting in the back garden feeling very negelected. Enjoy the site and the bike

Warning Rod, for some of us it's the other way round - my other half got an 1100GS and started playing offroad. That doesn't work with a pillion so I learnt and now have my own 650Gs. He then 'upgraded' to the 1200GS.

I think you'll find that, other than the real off-road gods, most of us are suprised at the bikes capabilities, and the confidence it inspires in the rider. That said, don't expect to stay upright all the time off road! Have a look at some of the pictures elsewhere on the site and you'll see what I mean!

Enjoy the bike.

Jo
