:blastHi guys, very excited box just turned up, now zumo'd up, not a clue what to do, any advice on fitting and wiring up.... dean are you out there?

before anything charge it up :augie ;)

Get the old Motorrad concepts Garmin mount from Migsel. It's the best by miles.

Find the 'Howto wire a SatNav into the existing SatNav socket ' thread. You really can't go wrong ;)

Install the Garmin WebUpdater software on your PC.

Plug the Zumo into a USB port, run Webupdater and get the latest software updates.

Ditch the Garmin Camera stuff and get the speed camera database from PocketGPSWorld

Register on Zumo Forums

Install the camera database from PocketGPSWorld using the HOWTO on ZumoForums.

Well, that's roughly what I did...... :D

Yep. These are good pointers.

But I would start with RTFM! :rob

what manual.FFS :D
garmin are too tight to give you one in the box.
if you buy a car you get one,if you buy a bike you get one.:nenau

Hi If you don't mind me asking what did it cost and where did you get it from.

Cheers:)

Mine came with a manual...
About 25 of them in fact... Mounting guides, quickstarts, and owners guides in a variety of languages..

Hi, UKdigitalcameras.co.uk about £367 plus £5 postage, came next day, think dell are doing cheaper, www.Audio66.com are £359 plus a tenner delivery, you can always find it cheaper afterwards, can't worry about that now, moreworried on how to mount and wire up, seems easy to use, don't understand mapsourse yet but will waste a few hours playing.

Mine came with manuals and a Ram Mount in the box, plus car mount stuff.
Is the ram mount just for handlebars or can you mount above the clocks with the supplied ram mount, which i imagine must be the same as mine? Also... where how are you wiring up please?

I asked these questions a while back and got good support....
You can use this on the bar above the clocks on the standard GS. Works a treat with the supplied clamp & RAM etc and no real need to buy the expensive mounts apart from they look nicer. I mounted mine on the left side of the bar. Not sure what bike you have but the 12GS has a socket for connecting GPS conveniently located under the headstock. You need to remove the beak and side panels to get at it (from the nearside) But I did not need to remove the tank. Print the excellent instructions from AndyW and away you go:thumb Don't worry abount snipping off the fuse on the existing cable - you don't need it (but retain in original box in case you sell / change bikes in the future)
I bloody hate that little security screw though!! Bloody thing self engages even when you leave it loose, ever tried getting the fiddly little driver into the slots at night in the rain? Feck:spitfire

Cheeers Jazbee, have been playing around tonight and have wired direct to battery (using in line fuse supplied cable) and it works! As for mounting will try mounting above clocks and see how it looks and shakes!
