that's my problem, whilst trying to load a new vehicle into my 550, that's the legend that pops up just before the programme quits I've actually removed the Asia and USA maps from the unit to try and make space, but still have no extra room, I have music and pictures installed on the unit as well, I cant seem remove these to free up more space, try as I might, I suspect it's something simple, (like me) but I'm at a loss, any sensible suggestions how to, or pointing out the obvious would be greatly appreciated!!

To delete the music files, connect the Zumo up to your pc, go into the Garmin folder, then the one named MP3 and delete the files. I had similar issues so bought an SD card for the Zumo to contain all my music. MP3 files can take up a lot of storage memory.

The 550's disc space had very little spare room.

I had a problem when updating maps, as the new maps simply wouldn't fit.

As a complete computer numpty (but not too bad on gps devices) I called Garmin. They were very helpful. There is a thread on it somewhere.

They talked me through deleting all the voice folders (Japanese banzai, Russian politburo, Australian bloke, American bimbo etc) and all their associated 'Help' documents. That freed up some space, at least enough to load the new European detailed maps.

Music and pictures. Load them onto a separate card, the device will find them when it switches on.

thanks for that lads, I've delited all of my music and pictures off the unit, now hopefully, there will be enough room for some other junk!!
