Zumo 550 & R1200RT

Hi all,
My dad just bought a 550 for his 12RT and we cant seem to fit the mount onto the handlebars because the U-bolt is about 4-5inches too short.
Should I contact Garmin and ask for a replacement or do I get one made up locally?
Did a search on this subject but nothing turned up.Appreciate all your help.Cheers

The U bolt is meant for bikes with round handle bars, and the RT doesn't have them. You can mount it different ways for the RT, but you will have to buy the extra items

or my favourite position is above the clocks using a migsel mount

you should check ebay for second hand migsel mount i have seen them of recent time

I seem to remember mine coming with long bolts and a fitting that allows you to fix it to the clutch lever.check the extra fittings
