Zumo 550 + Starcom + what mobile? = Happy Team Spotless

We've recently got a Zumo 550, we already had a Starcom and now we need a new Bluetooth enabled mobile to complete our comms requirements....

....but what mobile?

I like Samsung stuff so if anybody could make a recommendation of what Samsung model to add to our set up it would be greatly appreciated.

I only need enough phone to make and recieve hands free calls.....I do not want every whistle and bell on it....plus I am hoping to keep the price sensible as there is always too much month left at the end of the money!!!

Mrs Spotless is not so Samsung orientated so she is happy to consider other makes of phones so please chip in with recomendations....many thanks

Sony Ericsson

I have the Zumo 550 + Starcom and run a Sony Ericsson 630i phone through it.

Excellent quality and no problem with the bluetooth connection:thumb

As a long time Nokia and Sony Ericsson user, I switched a year ago to a funky slimline Samsung.

2 weeks later it went back. They may look good but the sound quality was terrible compared to the scandinavians, both from a speaker perspective and a microphone perspective. Not only was it much harder for me to understand what friends said, but they noticed it was much less clear when i was talking as well.

I experimented with several location, and several friends on the receiving end... making sure I had good reception indicated each time, but same issue. The sound quality was just not as clear.

Went back to Sony Ericsson and have not looked back. Unless you are a dedicated Chelsea supporter, I would reconsider the Samsung allegience

Samsung sympathies

Colebatch,

.....I've never used a phone in combination with anything other than my ear!.......

I only use the mobile to make call's.......Mrs Spotless call's me a Luddite.....but I tell her I already have a digital camara, a MP3 player and a calculator.......and none of them can make a phone call successfully so how can I expect my mobile to be so versatile!!!!!!

I have found ( I am a lot older thank I think) after buying and trying lots of different makes that the Samsung was the best ''telephone''....for me.

...however, stepping boldly into 'today'.......I will go open minded into a mobile shop and see what they can do.......but only if it's cheap enough of course!!!

...thanks for the feedback....

Spotless,

The Sony Ericsson W610i works well with the Zumo 550 / Starcom.

I previously had a Nokia N Series phone & had to copy and send the Phonebook to my Zumo every time I got on my bike.:spitfire

The Sony Ericsson W610i does this seamlessly & automatically:thumb2.

Hope this helps
