Zumo 550 stereo helmet speakers

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DICKHEAD!!!!!

I've done it and got shafted. The units he sells costs $1.50 to buy each from TW and are awful - they are very insensitive. He'll tell you to **** off if you want a refund.

It's impossible tp do this from the Zumo as volume isn't loud enough, even for sensitive speakers. I've had to buy an Autocom 200 to solve it. The speakers on the autocom are excellent as well.

Hi all,

Expecting my Zumo 550 to arrive on tuesday and was wondering if the speakers pictured below would plug and play so I can listen to music.

I don't want an autocom and bluetooth not allways reliable.

The kit has 3.5 jack plug and seems reasonable pricewise.

I've just bought the Zumo too. If i buy two of these Starcom headsets with mic is there any way to use the Zumo as a rider to pillion intercom. I'm guessing not in which case has anyone here used the Scala Teamset with the Zumo and would reccomend it?

Thanks

Hmmmmm... I was going to but a twist of fate made me go elsewhere.

Will see how I get on with the others.

Jon :)

Well I have tried out the speakers and they do have a lovely sound.

Nice clear crisp stereo with good bass, just like listening to an ipod :thumb2

Have not tried them at high speed yet but will report on sound etc.

Here they are with waterproof helmet connector and gold stereo plug.

£18.99 from my earlier link.

You can also buy a mic if you want to talk on the phone so a lot cheaper than starcom and autocom. Horses for courses :D

ones i got are complete shit. Little bit of wind noise and u cant hear them, and im young with good hearing.

Just to update on the speakers....

Have now fitted them to my new Caberg Justissimo and they are comfy and too loud on max volume.

Still to try at speed but you can't have it on full blast stationary

Just to round up my experience with these speakers.....

Used them today on way to work and they get the big thumbs up :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

I have them fitted in a 2008 model Caberg Justissimo flip up helmet and at 100mph :hide you can still hear them clearly on max volume :thumb2

Coming home tonight I had the flip UP and at 80mph you can still hear them clearly :thumb2

Can't recomend these enough if you are after good STEREO sound from your Zumo.

So loud that when you stop you have to turn them down.

There you go.....

So is that a separator, so that the helmet can be unplugged, leaving essentially two leads - one dangling from the helmet and one from the Zumo mount?

I do wear earplugs, but might still be worth buying at that price in the hope that I can hear the prompts :thumb2

Communications - Changes in the Law

Hi there !

Following a discussion with a colleague who is a JP, it would appear that a mountain biker may have created problems for all us riders.

He was hit by a car, and the defendants' insurers fought their corner, and he was then found to have "been riding without due care and attention" in that he was listening to his ipod and unable to hear the traffic appropriately.

My understanding was that single ear piece systems, the sort you get whilst under instruction, are acceptable in law, so long as they DO NOT interfere with the riders ability to hear traffic around them.

in this instance, the fact that earpieces were worn was given as the reason for the conviction, not that the music was loud or excessive.

My take has been to abandon the ipod and look for a helmet mounted single speaker system - currently the Viper helmet looks best value for money.

Interestingly, wearing ear defenders (inner ear types) are legal.

What a random world we live in !
