I'm thinking of buying a Zumo 550, but I don't really know what is required as far as a heatset goes. Do I need to get a bluetooth headset or what ? I was thinking of getting an intercom system for touring with the wife in summer, so can it hook into this ? I've looked on the Autocom sites and it's all Kit A, Kit B, lead for this, input/output for that. I'm just a simple lad from a housing estate, can a boffin please tell me what I need.

Cheers,

Pedro.

Hi pedro, I am sure someone will be along to help but in the meantime take a look at this site.

Click onto the forum bit at the top and away you go, loads of info:thumb

There is a bike communications section on here as well which may help.:thumb

zumo's and headsets

hello,
I've had the zumo linking via bluetooth to a caberg lid since last summer. The zumo's fine, but the lid is too noisey to hear the zumo's instructions over 50mph.

Suggestion - Nolan are supposedly releasing a new flip front lid with built in speakers and mic that's bluetooth compatible. The speakers may be stereo output which will be an improvement on the caberg.

good luck.

Thanks

Cheers amigos, I'll give those a look.

Sorry ECM, but I really am bad with the techno bable.

I will have a search on that site though.

If you want an intercom an Autocom is the best bet and at this price a real bargin too. To connect to the Zumo you need one of these also known as part number 1299.

Cheers
Dave

I recently bought a Zumo 550 and will fit the Autocom Kit 300 shortly, I'm also going to order the Zumo 550 to Autocom cable as I don't have a lot of faith in the quality of bluetooth headsets (and not interested in phoning from the bike!!!) This set up sounds like it would suit you and your pillion:thumb
I know someone in Perth who does these and will fit to Bike / Helmets so PM me if you want the contact details?
The autocom brochure link is here http://www.autocom.co.uk/pdf/Autocom_Jan_07_Brochure.pdf

Don't bother too much about the prices quoted in this because they are much better at present (except the cable @ £38)

:)I must agree with this comment. I bought a Zumo 550 before Xmas and have had it linked to an autocom 200 Duo. Seems ok to me.
If the cheap deals are still on then put your hand in your pocket.
