I have been offered a Garmin Zumo 550 for £250 boxed and comes with every thing, its 2 years old and in very good condition,is this a good price?

Hi Pathfinder yes i would say it is a fair price,If the seller has registered the Zumo he will have to contact Garmin to advise that it has been sold.As you will need to register the unit to use Mapsourse/ check for updates ,Otherwise you will not be able to install a newer version of maps as it is registered to someone else .I bought a Refurbed Zumo 500 a couple of months ago and due to a hitch i could not register the unit as it was already registered to the original owner .After a few emails and phone calls i got it sorted out and i am very pleased with the 500,I bought it from Satnaveasy and got a free map update to the latest version .I owned a Zumo 400 since they went on sale and it worked great until around three months ago when sometimes the Zumo would not start up .So i changed the battery cleaned all contacts and the only cure was to carry the allen key to remove the battery and put it back in again to get the 400 to turn on .If you do not use Mapsourse or update software go for it ,But if you do make sure the seller informs Garmin.Francis

I concur. The previous owner can now de-register the GPS via their myGarmin account, once this has been done the new owner should be able to register it under theirs.

Always make sure, when buying a used Garmin, that the seller is willing to do this.

Bumpkin, How many times have we said this.. also there's a coloured registration slip in the box, make sure you have that as it helps to re-register.

Should also be a 3 part mount and cradle in the box, depending mount location, consider getting a RAM-B-231Z if fitting LHS of clocks on oval rail (screen support)
