Hello chaps, just in the process of getting the above from a fellow tosser on here and just want a bit of advice. I intend to use it in the car and on the bike. On the bike I am not looking to use with a mobile phone, so just looking to use mp3 music facility and to be able to hear the route directions/music in the helmet. Can anyone give me the most cost effective setup advice as my last gps on a bike was a quest and I never used it remotely! Thanks in advance for any info that will help me decide. Im not looking to spend a fortune, just something that works well and will be reliable.

I've also just taken ownership of a 550, 1st decent sat nav.
Probably the cheapest way is to use the bike mount that comes with it, on the side is an audio out jack that i assume you just plug a set of headphones in to, but some expert will be along shortly with a better explanation

I think the holder needs to be wired in to the bike power supply to work, the cable should be supplied with it

You could use a set of wired headphones but that is soooo yesterday! and I always forget to unplug upon dismounting.

Consider something like a Jabra BT3030 to hang round the neck and bt to the Zumo, plug in your choice or supplied headphones to the Jabra and voila! - music and sat nags!

Thats a good one, have you ever used it with a mobile as well? I was wondering about the mic?

The Jabra has a mic on the thing you hang around your neck allowing phone conversations.

It is not designed to use on a high speed motorbike so I would imagine wind noise may be a problem, there appears to be no option of an external mic.

I have not got this setup simply because I have the Zumo 500 and I understand the bt side of mine is mono music only, but it woudl still give sat nags.

The basic scala rider works well for me,
or try it without the sat nav sound its ok, i sometimes do on long rides
but you will need a power supply to the mount for charging and wired audio,
just in case its not been used for a while ,if the time is wrong all you can set is the zone it auto adjusts when linked to sattelites,
