Hi,

I want to have the speed limit displayed permanently on my zumo next to my actual speed, does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

It's there somewhere. It was the default setting on my 660 when I got it two years ago and I've never changed it.

It is...:thumb

You need to set the Map to 'More Data View'...

So go to...Tools to Settings to Map then select Map Data Layout and select the above.

you'll have four fields on the right of the screen. I've made the lower field read actual speed which will be next to the speed limit display when live....Job Done!

Thanks for all the responses - so quick!!

My map is already set to the 'More Data View'...

When I select one of the left hand buttons, I am presented with what I want to see. In this selection there is no option for speed limit. The only buttons I have access to are:

*Speed - this is my actual speed
*Heading
*Elevation
*Max Speed - this is the fastest speed I have recorded on the bike (70mph ofcourse!)
*Moving Average
*Overall Average
*Time
*Moving Time
*Stopped Time
*Sunrise
*Sunset
*GPS Accuracy
*Bearing
*Odometer
*Fuel Level

Thanks

Yup.

That's right.... There is no 'Current speed limit' option in the choice of tickable boxes. So, you have to do the next best thing, exactly as Coolcarbon suggested....

Here it is once again....

Rely on the current speed limit symbol that flashes up automatically in the main body of the screen for many (but not all) roads and then:

(1) Tick the
*Speed - this is my actual speed box
and have it appear near enough alongside

OR

(2) Look at the speedometer, installed helpfully by BMW from new

AND / OR

Failing that, read the road signs / engage a little common sense

And for those who aren't colour blind, and assuming you have the "speed" selected, the speed reading turns red if you go over what it thinks is the limit, allegedly

As long as the mapping knows the road is known to have one.

... and the speed limit attribute on the mapping is correct (some are wrong especially where they have recently been changed).

As Wappers says, look for the speed limit signs on the roadside!
