Zumo power unit future problem ?

Use some electrical grease on the power contact pins on the mount where the zumo attaches.

They corrode due to being "live" and living in a damp climate. They're far to delicate and "ping" off very easily.

Seen two with the problem now :augie
 
Yep that's good advise. Like all electrical contacts that are out in the open, a fingertip of WD40 or the like keeps the contacts clean.
 
WD40 dries out too quickly, petroleum jelly (Vasoline) is a good protective grease for electrical contacts.
 
It is also best to make sure that the mount is not wired direct to the battery and so "live" all the time. On the 1200's use the GPS connector at the head stock :thumb
