Hi,

Have just spent the last 4days in Northern France with my Zumo.

It had been working fine until I stopped for coffee this morning. Took Zumo out of mount went for coffee came back and nothing :mmmm

Tried the normal tricks of taking out the battery etc but still no signs of life. Is there anything else I can try or is it fecked? Most interested in getting it working as there are loads of track logs that I went to pull down from it.

Thanks

Nigel

If you've tried taking the battery off it already then its probably knackered and will need to go back to Garmin whom normally will send a refurbished different unit back to you.

If its still under warranty you're ok if not they'll charge you for the repair but it will still be a lot cheaper than buying a new unit.

I'm afraid it's......

I'm just back from Europe using a "free" refurbished Zumo 550 and it kept crashing. Sometimes as I was riding along it just went to a blank screen and other times the screen just froze. Seems even my refurbished model is up the creek.

I had to get the maps out and seeing as I only use back roads I had forgotten the charms of getting lost and trying to find my way across little country routes.

that's cruel :D

Phoned them last week and got a RMA number.

Sent the unit back last Tuesday (UPS) the tracking number says it has been delivered but the status on the website still says that they are awaiting return of my unit.:nenau

Will give them a ring in the morning and see what's happening.

That sounds familiar sent mine back last week also, same problem garmin site says still awaiting return ? they could be busy last time i sent it back it only took a week

Checked again this morning and its now showing as being with them so hopefully I should hear back soon.

Call them takes a bit of time to get through but mine did the same and new unit came in 4 days :thumb

Well unit arrived back on Wednesday. Unfortunately I only got sent back a refurbed Zumo and not a full box of bits

Will have to try and pick up a cheap 2nd cradle for the other bike.

Had same thing happen on my 550. Luckily Sue has one as well, so process of elimination found it was the mount. Took it apart and it was badly water damaged, loads or electronics in it. Got a new mount and works ok. Try looking inside, easy to take the back off just small screws.

Whats the point of a waterproof unit when the mount packs up in a shower.
