Have just replaced Navigator 1 with a Zumo, the Navigator has worked perfectly
with voice prompt volume perfectly loud enough to hear with ear plugs via Autocom.
Fitted Zumo with no alteration to rest of system result a great piece of kit except I can not hear it, yes I have loaded updates as suggested by Garmin and got all the volumes on max.
Have just spoken again to Garmin but have got a worrying response according to them no one else has complained about this? they have no knowledge of the effects of wind noise on hearing as leaving out earplugs was suggested (his mate rides and has no problem hearing it without plugs)
Other problems unit freezes completely with battery out to fix, great if on the M60 and can't remember the junction to get off or map screen goes pale yellow with no detail but voice prompts work if you can hear them.
Anyway it's going back to Garmin, I do feel
that the Zumo is great in every other respect but is unable to match the navigator on volume, not much point in having music and phone either if you can't hear them over 40 mph I might just as well have kept old slow one.
I know Autocom can boost their kit a bit and amplifiers can be bought but why should you need to on a machine which is sold as a motorcycle unit.
